Lukas Märtens (born 27 December 2001) is a German swimmer. He is the reigning 400m freestyle Olympic champion.

Career

Märtens competed at the Olympics in 2020 in the 200 metre freestlye, 400 metre freestyle, 1500 metre freestyle and 4 × 200 metre freestyle relay events, and in 2024 where he won a gold medal in the 400 metre freestyle event and came 5th in the 200 metre freestyle event.

In the 2025 Swim Open Stockholm, he broke the world record in the men's 400-meter freestyle, with a time of 3:39.96, beating Paul Biedermann's record from 2009.
